HOW RELATES ULTRAVISION TO ULTRAPEG?
Ultramundum is the full project for the diffusion of ultravision, UltraPeg is the technology at the base of the service. More or less like the DVD delivers movies on a disk and laser technology is used to read those disks.

WHAT IS ULTRAVISION?
the three-dimensional television over the Internet. No 3D because it exits from the screen (a thing possible with special headsets today, with "olo emitters" tomorrow), but because it delivers  true three-dimensional contents.
The classical television transmits through radio waves a sequence of frames, single two-dimensional pictures. Ultravision delivers over the Internet complete three-dimensional models that are then explored on the local device. In this way, passive watching is possible, like that of the classical TV, but free interactive exploration is also available.

Think about a documentary about Paris: with standard TV the director could bring us to se the Opera and then take us to the Lafayette general stores. With Ultravision we coulf want to take a detour in Boulevard des Italiennes. We would momentarily suspend the documentary and take a right turn into the avenue we want to visit, not that offered by the director. We could explore as we wish and then continue with the documentary that would bring us back to the Lafayettes general store. With Ultravision we can watch passively, like we can with standard television, and start interact when we want to, exploring at will.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO TRANSMIT VIDEOGAMES?
Of course. It's one of the major applications.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES?
possibility of interaction with all contents, not only passive watching (even if it's obviously possible). Connection from every place in the world, without any complex aerial. Everybody can be creative and produce new contents.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO TRANSMIT STANDARD MOVIES?
yes, but they would still be flat. To transform a standard movie in true Ultravision, work has to be done. A little like old black and white movies that have been 'colored'.

BUT IS IT NOT ULTRAVISION VIRTUAL REALITY?
yes, but offered as a service we could imagine in our home. The "virtual reality" term has been purposedly avoided, because today has been used too many times, for some people has a sinister and 'fake' flavour so it did not seem right for a serious proposal.

WHAT ARE ULTRAVISION CHANNELS?
the term "dhannel" has been chosen on purpose to point at the same thing we can find in standard television. In Ultramundum channels are less general-purpose and can contain even a single oblject that can be explored in 3D. Other possible channels are movies and documentaries, interactive or not, videogames, projects and any kind of content you can find in standard television, on videogame consoles or any kind of project and design systems. Ultavision channels are numbered and the user can, like in standard TV, switch to any of them simply by selecting its number.

CAN I OPEN MY ULTRAVISION CHANNEL?
sure. For now this service is still under development, but you can reserve a channel. If you have an idea, do it, first registered, first served.
