Specventure reloaded

A game for the 1982 ZX SPectrum home computer reprogrammed in glorious 3D after 30 years.

They where the 80's, Ronald Reagan was going to end the cold war, Michael Jackson was becoming the king of pop and Margaret Tatcher was showing to the world what an iron lady looked like. In 1982 the zx spectrum was born, an 8 bit home computer that took the market by storm, thanks to its low price, color hi-res graphics and the best quality for that price at that time.

In 1984 the videogame Specventure was published by Mastertronic London; created by Fulvio Dominici, the first italian ever to sell a videogame on the international market. more that 15000 copies were sold, a huge amount for that time. It was an adventure inside the spectrum's circuits to get back the bytes escaped from the operating system control. After 30 years from its first publishing, the game adds a new dimension and brings us all back to a lost time...

The Ultramundum foundation open source remake has started as an internal research project with local schools and universities, turning in time into a full-scale commercial-quality game that is published in open source under GPL licence

The Ultramundum Foundation's UltraPort platform has been used for this commercial-quality gaming product after other successful projects and cultural/scientific creations.
